One of a kind horse head carving
rigged to hang. Approximately 2 1/2 feet tall. Found in Canada,
but may have originated in the U.S. Original paint with minor
touch up to gesso and paint in mane. Bears some similarity to
circus wagon and carnival carvings, but we cannot make that attribution.
Superb folk art in any event, circa late 19th century. If the
buyer wishes, we can touch up and stabilize remaining areas of
gesso and paint loss for an additional charge. (CC-5)
