Painted Lobster Claws

Great folky pair of very large painted lobster claws with attached cloth hats intended to represent early seamen.  New England seacoast origin, circa late 19th-early 20th century. Probably made by a sailor or lobsterman.  Painted on both sides.  Hard to find these in early paint and most uncommon to find a matching pair.  Larger one measures apprx. 14" from tip of jaw to top of hat when extended and smaller one measures apprx. 13" between the same points.  (BT-38)

$450 (the pair)
