- Nice folky carving of a ruffed
grouse in original paint with minor wear on one side and on the
head near the beak. Carved by Carl Forslund of Grand Rapids,
Michigan, or one of his employees, probably in the late 4th quarter
of the 20th century. Forslund was a furniture maker who carved
songbirds and gamebirds in his spare time. Carved from
hardwood. Found in Adirondacks. Apprx. 9 ½ L x
