Bobwhite Quail

Excellent carving of a Bobwhite Quail found in Pennsylvania.  Original paint with wear on back right as shown in second and fourth photos and small spot on end of beak.  Slightly larger than life size.  7" tall, including base, and 9" long.  Carved by Carl Forslund of Grand Rapids, Michigan, or one of his employees, probably in the late 3rd or 4th quarter of the 20th century. Forslund was a furniture maker who carved birds, including gamebirds, in his spare time.  (CH-5)
