Cedar Wax Wing Carving

Finely carved and painted Cedar Wax Wing by the late Harry Ross, signed and dated 1977. (see note under the Green Jay carving by Ross above for details on this highly regarded carver). The Cedar Wax Wing is common in the north woods of the US and Canada and winters in the Southeastern US and down to central America. A very distinguished looking bird, captured well by Ross. Please note that bird has been tilted up in first photo to better visualize the carving since the bird faces down as shown in the second photo (CL-14).
