Early Shorebird Decoy

Early shorebird decoy with tack eyes, mounted on a block of wood. Head was carved separately and attached. Paint is old and may be original. Bill is carved and probably inset. The dowel rod is glued in place on both ends and cannot be removed without cutting it, but the bird displays very well as is. Body is narrower than some, but it is not a so-called "flattie". 10 ½" L x apprx. 8" H. Maker unknown. Circa early 20th century. (CP-30)
