- Two Native American Eastern
Woodlands splint baskets with matching decoration. Believed to
be Algonquin made. The larger one is made with wooden legs, an
unusual feature shared by some early wool drying baskets, and
probably dates to the early 20th century. It stands 6" high
on the legs and measures 13 ¾"L x 10 ¾"W.
The smaller one is square, measuring 9 ¾" along each
side, and is 3 ¾" high. It dates to the late 19th
century. Both baskets have minor splint losses. (CJ-31)
