- American grain-painted shelf
believed to be from Vermont. 29"L x 8 ¾"W. Bold
russet brown graining over yellow. Scalloped apron and beveled
front corners. Pegged construction with dowel caps. One cap has
been replaced with minor painting on right rear corner as one
faces the shelf. All other paint is original, with expected wear
from use. The iron shelf brackets are not original, but serve
well. A very distinctive piece, probably dating to the mid-19th
century. (CL -17)
