- Nest of 7 graduated oval
boxes fashioned from yellow birch with carved decorations, with
the smallest being only about an inch long and ½"
wide, then increasing up to apprx. 4" in length and 2 ½"
in width. There are lids for all but the smallest. Found in Maine
and probably Native American made. Sold to us as spruce gum boxes,
but we cannot document that attribution and they are not in the
traditional book-style form. Exceptional craftsmanship. Circa
