- Matching pair of sailor-made
wall sconces dating to the early 19th century. All original save
for a bit of putty used to secure a couple mirror sections in
one sconce. Inset ivory decorations. Expected losses
to silvering on mirror sections. Rare to find these in
such good condition. Buyer will be provided with a letter we
obtained from the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration, documenting that the sconces
may be freely sold and exported notwithstanding prohibitions
set forth in the Marine Mammal Protection Act and Endangered
Species Act against the sale or export of certain ivory products.
Ex-collection of Justin Cobb. Apprx. 10" H x
6 3/8" W x 7´deep to front of candle holder. (CA-8)
