 
- Fabulous early carved turtle
fish spearing decoy. Tail is made of leather and legs of
carved wood or leather. Weight inset in bottom. Turtle
decoys are very rare and this one is exceptionally well made.
Measures 9” long from nose to tip of tail and 5 1/2"
wide. Paint is good and original. Probably dates
to the early 20th century and its origin, while unknown, is likely
one of the north-central U.S. states. It had been part
of a collection for many years and is fresh to the market. We
have fashioned a display hanger which will come with the decoy.
